NWSEO to Testify at House Science Committee Hearing on NWS Budget ShortfallTestimony of NWSEO General Counsel Richard Hirn Video of the entire Hearing wih Mr. Hirn's testimony (September 12, 2012) NWSEO General Counsel Richard Hirn will testify at today’s 2 p.m. hearing before the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee of the House Science Committee regarding National Weather Service Budget Shortfall. The hearing will be webcast live on the Science Committee’s website at http://science.house.gov/legislation/hearings and will also be available on the Committee’s website for future viewing. Mr. Hirn is on the second panel so he is expected to testify after NOAA Assistant Secretary Kathryn Sullivan and the DOC’s Inspector General Todd Zinser. Subcommittee Chairman Paul Broun (R-GA) invited Hirn to “address the apparent shortfall at the NWS, [its] history and cause, actions taken by your organization to draw attention to it, and potential recommendations on how to address the issue going forward.” -NWSEO-
