NWS fraudulently signs
NWSEO Headquarter Region Chair’s name on “joint” employee communications
(February 4, 2015) NWSEO is filing an Unfair Labor Practice against the NWS charging the agency signed, without consent and over his objections, Headquarters Region Chair Steve Pritchett’s name to an all-hands email. The email was distributed as a “joint communication” to employees about the bargaining status of NWS Headquarters reorganization.
The incident happened on December 19, while NWSEO was still at the bargaining table over the reorganization of NWS Headquarters. Union officials did not agree with the language on the communication and objected to its distribution as it was written. The NWS distributed the all-hands email anyway, including Mr. Pritchett’s signature without his approval.
“In all my years of doing this, I’ve never seen the agency mislead their employees in such a blatant manner. Instead of relying on leadership from agency, we are getting unreliable and downright dishonest communications” said NWSEO President Dan Sobien.
